Happy Holidays
Well, time has swiftly moved and it's about 3 days before Christmas. I still haven't finished my shopping and just the thought of going out into the last minute rush is something that I'm not ready for but anyway I do what I have to. I will like to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and I hope you get everything you want for Christmas and have a prosperous New Year. Times are tight and money is low so if I had one wish for everyone is that everybody is warm and have food to eat for the holidays. May you continue to believing that there is a God and that he is in control, so put it all in his hands and watch him work for you. Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night.

Holidays
Christmas is fastly aproaching and the anticipation is mounting. Although we are in an economic crisis, we will find a way to get our children/grandchildren something for Christmas. Also the holidays brings on a lot of stress, so what I'm going to do is to think positive and try not to get depressed. I will not focus on what I don't have but will be thankful for what I have. So I'm not going for the most expensive gifts because it's the thought that counts. All that really matters to me is to spend time with family and friends and enjoy good food, games, conversations and television/movies.
So, as the new year approach I will not be making any resolutions but will try to make more healthy choices in my life. So I hope everyone enjoys a stree free holiday and above all don't worry, be HAPPY!!!!

Learning 2.0 Remixed
This has been a interesting 9 weeks and I'm proud to say I kept up each week and didn't fall too much behind. I've enjoyed the challenge and my favorite week was the widgets. I have so many account now that it will be hard to remember all the new logins, especially the passwords. I joined Facebook and I actually had two people that wanted to be my friend. How cool is that! Anyway I feel that I've learned a lot and accomplished much for and old country girl. But the question is will I really use it? I know I'll use IM because we do that at work but most of the other things I'll probably never use again. I'm undecided about whether I'll keep my facebook account but who knows what may happen in the future. Anyway I can say I MADE IT.
Web 2.0
Well I don't know what all the hype is all about, maybe I just don't get it because I'm not a person to just sit around and play or be on the internet a lot or even all day. And it may be because I'm older but I feel that most of the hype is from the younger generation who are into all of the new technology. What I can say about web 2.0 is that it was a learning experience and I don't think I would have never even attempted to do this on my own but it was a requirement, I would say. I will probably never use some of the stuff I've learned or remember it all.

Social Networking
Well, I'm pretty proud of myself because I made it through another week. It was not difficult at all but somehow on my first try it didn't work but I can say I'm a member of a social network. I don't think this will help me much in communicating but I will give it a try. I'm so not into all this new stuff, I prefer my friend call me on my phone. I don't know if I'll every get use to using all the new technology I've learned but atleast it's a learning experience. HOLLA BACK at a sister!!!!

Widgets and Gadgets
This was interesting and the reading materials were understandable and not time consuming. Although it did take me a minute to add a widget to my blog; I can say that I did accomplish the task. Not bad for a novice if I say so myself. Life is good and I've actually obtained a little more knowledge technically. HOLLA!!!!

Delicious
This was a little difficult but I actually bookmarked a few things. I don't know if I'll ever use this again but I guess it's a learning process but I will forget what I've learned if I don't use it anymore. Way... too much stuff to keep in my head. HOLLA!!!!!

Multimedia
This week the photosharing was interesting and I may even used this one in the future. The reading material was much better this week not too long at all.

Instant Messaging
This one was a breeze because I already do IM for the library system. I had no problems at all but the reading materials are way too long and takes up a lot of your time. Maybe we can condense the reading materials somehow.

Wiki
The reading material was way too long but overall I didn't have a problem creating an account or editing the wiki. I just hope it continues to be a learning experience and fun.

RSS
This week was pretty simple, I didn't have any problems setting up the RSS(google reader) and I had fun subscribing. I don't know how much I will use this in the future but it was a learning experience.

Today is the last day of September and my birthday was on the 14; I’m a year older and better. Time is swiftly moving right along. My day start out okay, I had to make a trip to Norfolk to pick up my mother and take her to the doctor, which made me a little late for work but what’s done is done.
I had the opportunity to attend the VLA paraprofessional mini-conference on the campus of Va. Tech in Blacksburg, VA last week and had a wonderful time. The speakers were good and the lunch was good also. I also got to meet Nikki Giovanni, which was our afternoon speaker, she is very humorous. She had us laughing out loud with her wit; she talked about her latest children’s book titled: “The Grasshopper’s Song.” I also got to see the Special Collection in Va. Tech’s library for the 4/16; where people from all across the country had sent in letters and memorabilia’s.
I’m not a very talkative person so this was hard for me but I hope it will get easier as I go along. Whoever reads this is a brave one. Stay encouraged. HOLLA!!!!
